Professor Kallen has a PhD in meteorology from Stockholm University and has worked as professor of dynamic meteorology at Stockholm University for most of his professional career. During the years 2009 until 2017 he was Director of Research at the European Centre for Medium range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) in Reading, UK. He took up his present Director position at CCRS in 2018. He is a member of Academia
Europea and the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences.
