Director, Climate Resilience Department, Asian Disaster Preparedness Centre (ADPC), Thailand

Dr. Senaka Basnayake works as Head of Climate Change and Climate Risk Management Department of the Asian Disaster Preparedness Centre (ADPC). He is experienced in conducting research on climate change, climate variability and extreme events. He
has been involved in implementing projects on climate and disaster risk management and climate change adaptation. Before joining ADPC in 2010, he has served as a scientist at SAARC Meteorological Research Centre in Bangladesh. He begun his career as a Senior Meteorologist at the Department of Meteorology in Sri Lanka in 1988.
